Keep your eyes and ears open for pop-up performances scattered across two of Wellington’s most beautiful gardens. Talented artists will appear spontaneously as you wander through Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush and the Botanic Garden ki Paekākā, bringing music, storytelling, and theatre to life in unexpected places for Te Wā o te Kōanga, Spring Festival 2025.
Botanic Garden ki Paekākā - Love Birds
Brought to you by the Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand
Join us at Puriri Lawn for interactive readings celebrating Shakespeare and spring at 11:30am and 2:30pm, with roaming performers delighting visitors in between.
Come dressed to impress for our bird costume competition, with judging at 12pm and 3pm following the readings. Feathers, colours, and creativity encouraged!
Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush - Meet the Moa
With String Bean Puppets
Come meet Nunu, the friendly moa puppet! Nunu will be roaming the garden during two special sessions: 11:00–11:45am and 12:15–1:00pm. Feed him some leaves, give him a cuddle, and enjoy this fun, interactive experience bringing Wellington’s prehistoric past to life.
